Dr. Nurul Hidayah, is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Computer Science and Information. Technology, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Johor, Malaysia. She holds a PhD from University of South Australia, Australia. Nurul Hidayah is also a Senior Researcher in the Center for Information Security Research for Digital Forensics group.

She is the Academic Editor for PloSOne Journal since year 2017. She is the co-editor for
Emerging Trends in Information Security Application Series 3 (published by UTHM Publisher), and Proceedings of the Cyber Security Intelligence and Analytics 2022 (published by Springer). She has reviewed for a number of international journals such as Forensic Science International: Digital Investigation, International Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and PloSOne. She has been involved as program committee and reviewer to a number of international conferences such as International Conference in Information Technology and Digital Applications, International Conference on Information and Communication Technology, National Cyber Summit 2017, the 21 st Americas Conference on Information Systems, the 26 th Australasian Conference on Information Systems, International Conference on Advances in Cyber Security, and Applied Information Technology And Computer Science. She has been an invited speaker for a number of international events including 2022 Telkom University (Indonesia) Proposal Camp, International Conference in Information Technology and Digital Applications 2021, a public lecture at GadjahMada University, Indonesia in 2018. She was a visiting lecturer at Telkom University, Indonesia in 2019. She is the recipient of the UTHM Anugerah Cuti Belajar (Graduate on Time Award) in 2016.

Her areas of research include visualising digital forensics data for analysis, integrating knowledge management approach to facilitate forensic analysis, usability security issues and design in the emerging technologies, forensic analysis and presentation in the emerging technologies environment (e.g. cloud computing, mobile forensics, IoT), and digital forensics in online education platform. She has been authored and co-authored a number of publications in international refereed journals, conference articles, and book chapters such as in the Computers & Security, IEEE Cloud Computing, Mobile Networks and Applications, Journal of Forensic Sciences, Cloud Security Ecosystem (a book chapter published by Syngress/Elsevier), and International Journal of Electronic Security and Digital Forensics. Her research articles have been widely cited with more than 600 citations (indexed by Google Scholar).

She is the co-inventor of M-Health Digital Evidence Taxonomy System (MDETS) copyright. Her MDETS’s research team has won Best Paper award in the 2019 International Conference on Applied Science and Technology, Silver award in the International Borneo Innovation Exhibition and Competition 2021, and Bronze award in the International Research and Symposium and Exposition 2019. In 2021, her team has achieved Bronze award in the International Research and Symposium and Exposition for MFVisualizer: A Mobile Forensics Visualization Tool research product. The research activities have funded by Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS), awarded by Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia in 2017 and 2020. She is the project leader for both FRGS grants.
